“Do or do not. There is no try.”
I keep saying that I’m going to try my best. I’m going to try to move on. I’m going to try to see the positive things in life. I’m going to try to live a happier life. But should I even limit myself by saying “try”?
I was messaging one of my friends and mentioned that I was going to try to run the half marathon this year. He responded with Yoda’s quote, “Do or do not. There is no try.” Maybe he has a point. If it’s something I really want to do, then I will. As with anything in life, if you really want something badly enough, you will make it happen, right?
To try is giving something your best shot and being okay even if the outcome is not what you expected. To do something means to take any and every action that will help you achieve your goal, no matter how many tries it takes, you will do it.
So I’m not going to use the word “try” anymore. I will do whatever it takes to live my best life.
